I am spending a few weeks in Austalia and going up to the tropical North where the temp hits 30 to 35 a bit worried about condensation with my camera and lens i am staying in some very basic accomodation but does have ac my wife as decided to leave me with it on this one she is staying in a better class of place down in broome.
If anyone can give me any tips on how to look after my gear i would be very grateful.
Thanks Keith.

I have yet to make it to Australia, but have been in the jungles of Africa, South America and Madagascar, which I suspect are similar. The best thing I have found is to get several largish packs of silica gel and keep them with your equipment. You can find the sprt of thing I mean on e-bay, an example is at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Silica-Gel-Desiccant-Humidity-Moisture-Absorber-Box-/200583000848?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Hearing_Cooling_Air&hash=item2eb3adb310
The little sachets included with cameras and lenses are next to useless, but using these packs has kept my gear dry for trips of up to six weeks. If you do get condensation, get your gear professionally cleaned as soon as you get home. I know people who have had to throw lenses away because they did not get condensation cleared fast enough and fungus then got in. Needless to say, as well as the silica gel you need something reasonably airtight to keep gear in as well.
Good luck with the trip, and we look forward to seeing the results.

There must be plenty of snappers up in that area with cameras.
Do a Google on photoraphy in that area and ask what they do.
