I just sent an email to Jim Ernhardt asking him to remove me as RMNP moderator. I barely have enough time to spend time with my wife and dog let alone give this forum the time and effort it deserves. I just cant juggle everything on my plate. I have made so many friends out here and had so many great times and photo events. I am stil planning on participating out here and it will be nice to be just a participant again.
I only received one person interested in joining the RMNP Moderator team. Is anyone else interested in helping in the role. Jim E said on the other post that he would be more than happy to add another person (ie: 3 people) to the moderator group.
One of the things I have always liked about this group of friends/photographers has been that we can talk and work with eachother. And I think overall we genuinely respect and like eachother.

Did not care for the way this went down. Thought this forum was better than that.

You know Morris, that's a good point. Although I, along with a number of other older members, was disappointed about the direction of the forum over the past couple of years, I absolutely chose the wrong way of expressing that disappointment. For the record, I have spoken about this with Jim Casteel and have been in touch with Rich as well.

It's a shame to lose people who have given up their personal time to help us out. Richie- Thank you for the work you have done to help our community. You're worth much more than the measly $49 membership and we're thankful to have had you for the time we did.
Richie V. thank you for all that you have done for this forum.
Caz, it takes a big man to apologize, and we all know that you are a BIG MAN!
Seriously, your post just lit a primed fuse apparently. I thought at first it was light hearted, so I responded that way. It didn't take long to see it was more serious, and others picked up on that quickly. But, I thank you for your response here.

Richie, Aleks is right. You need to tap the brakes buddy. I appreciate your friendship and all you've done here more than I can say. I can only imagine the amount of time required to moderate a forum like this. Heck, I have trouble moderating my blog and I only get a few comments every month! So take a break, slow down...remember the reasons you joined this group. And let's go to Bisti next spring

Thanks for all of your time and effort here, Richie!

Richie, Thanks for your work on the forum. Been in your shoes in the past travelling every week and putting in the hours. By doing that I was able to leave the corporate world early but it took a toll on me. Hope you can achieve a better balance in your work life.
Best wishes in your future endeavors.
Thank you, Richie! I haven't read through all of the stuff on the other post, but I know that you're constantly traveling, and appreciate that you still found a way to moderate and plan the shindig (+ a bunch of other stuff). I think by definition a forum like this is fluid - new membership and contributors, and a wide range of images critiques. We all have a lot going on and any extra effort is a bonus for the rest of us. Many thanks for stepping up.

Sorry about the circumstances leading up to this. Yeah, there are valid criticisms - same as when I was mod - but the delivery is inappropriate, particularly considering that much of it comes from infrequent contributors. Thanks for all that you've done and take solace in the knowledge that most people recognize and appreciate your contributions.

Richie,
Thank you for the time and effort that you put into RMNP. I think manner in which people chose to air their grievances was inappropriate at best, and I thought this place was better than that. I'm sorry it went down this way.
Take some time to decompress. Spend time with your family and enjoy life. I hope we can see you back here sometime in the future...hopefully sharing some amazing photos!
Just want to say thanks Richie, RMNP is a great forum any way you slice it! I hope dropping your moderator duties makes your life a bit less hectic.

Less moderator time = More shooting/processing time. Let's see those Redwood photos soon! Thank you for everything you've done for the forum over the last several years. Hope you stick around and continue to make many contributions. Cheers.

Thanks for all the hard work, Richie! I hope things calm down for you and you can get out and do what photographers love to do.

Thanks again, Richie and enjoy just being a participant again. I'm looking forward to seeing more posts from you, especially B&W 4x5s! I agree about slowing down a bit. I know your company demands a lot, and you like to travel, but it sounds like that may be getting overwhelming. Its easy to burn out with that kind of lifestyle. Take care!
