New Playground
Made my first trip to the Little MO last week...really impressed with the landscapes there. I just wish it weren't such a long drive >:(

Great shot, Bill is that the Winding Stairs area of the river?

I love the lay of the land here, great comp and a beautiful image Bill. I could definitely spend some time wandering around here. Thanks for sharing!

Great comp. Nice leading lines.
Looks a bit blue on my monitor at work. Not a fair gauge, I'm sure.
Keep them comin'.

This is a beautiful pic, Bill.

Made my first trip there myself over the weekend. I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments. The good news for me is that it is much closer than the Buffalo so I plan to make it a regular stop. Unfortunately, on our quick trip we didn't get to explore beyond the falls and Albert Pike areas before the sunlight chased us away.

Beautiful Bill! We are going that way this coming weekend. I just called the forest service and the lady stated the colors are really beautiful today. She was looking out her office window and giving me a visual over the phone! I can't wait. This will be my first fall weekend to get out and shoot!

Hey Bill, Good to see you out and around. I like the various textures from the water to the stone to the trees. Beautiful. The shot is nicely framed with the green trees on the left and the red ones on the right and anchored by the pool of water.

Thanks to everyone for looking, and taking a moment to comment. :wavey:

Tom, this is indeed the Winding Stairs area...easy to see why Tim E. calls it one of Arkansas' "Crown Jewels".

A very nice looking area indeed. We need more!

I can see why you like this area, Bill. It looks like a great place to explore. The way the canyon dissapears around the bend makes me wonder what might be there. Unfortunately, it looks like about 6-7 hours for me though, and I can make the Colorado mountains in about 8 hours, the Flint Hills in an hour and the local parks in 15 minutes, so I guess we learn to appreciate what we have.
