BACK---finally---today at the Garden
Back from 4 workshops in a row!Good to be home but a mountain of office work. Took some time for what should be the end of the color in the Japanese Garden here in PDX today. With the forecast looking like winter---its just about done for this year.

I love this, Jack. As I was scrolling down, I expected a more conventional shot with a leaf-strewn path or a reflection, so the motion swirl of leaves is a wonderful surprise. I assume you stopped way down and used a filter or that this was taken near sunset. What shutter speed did you have to use to get that motion?

Very cool Jack. Looks like a whirlpool!

Yep, we're all trying to figure out what you did, Jack. Amazing look to this image with the swirl in the water. I'm thinking there wasn't a puff of wind, or the water was fast moving ( sorry to say, never been to Portland's Japanese Garden ), or it's a 2-shot blend or what Marylynne describes… Or maybe all of the above. May have to go try some stuff at my local stream!

It was nice seeing you there Jack. Good thing you had that ND filter, this is cool.

Very nice image Jack. I really like the spinning vortex in the foreground.
