Our thanks to all who are stepping up to offer your help with RMNP activities! Since this is a major milestone for both RMNP and NPN, we are working out the best way to handle (1) the high level of activity in this group and (2) the wide geographical area covered by this group.

I suspect we will end up with far more people involved to adequately cover all of the group's needs - bear with us while we get it sorted out!

Edit

This is a huge group, not only in activity but in geographical coverage. What we need to do is form a RMNP Leadership Team.

Based on the many excellent suggestions made, I think the team should be composed of the following;

1. A moderating team, made up of at least 2 moderators who have the time to check the forum a few times a day and a head moderator, someone with moderating expereince who can oversee the moderation process. I think we have this one covered now.

2. Event coordinators - people to orchestrate and arrange the shindigs, exhibits, etc. We may need a few of these team members, located where the events take place.

3. A photo contest coordinator to run the group contest, cover shots, etc.

4. A group webmaster to keep the RMNP site up to date.

The way I see it, there could easily be 6 to 8 members needed to do this. I think we should start off by asking for volunteers to fill these positions. Since burn-out is inevitable, we should have in place scheduled rotation, with the member currently occupying the position having first rights to stay on if they're still good to go.

Thoughts? Does this make sense?

I like it. The main thing is mods and event coordinators keeping each other informed.

I have experience being a moderator and I check in on this forum several times nearly every day (don't tell my boss!!). I'll be happy to help out if needed. Just let me know.
