A storm moved across Sedona Sunday evening and had some low clouds. This is in the Devil's Kitchen/Soldier Pass area as the sun snuck under some clouds at sunset to light up one wall. Other areas around Sedona had some nice low clouds, but the light was not there on the rocks.

Great composition Doug. The variation of color on the rocks is quite nice. I was down there last weekend for the first time, that is such a beautiful location, I'm planning on coming back next year to shoot the fall colors.

Beautiful! Are those trees frosted? They look like it. Cool. Love the clouds and colors too! Great shot!

Pretty sunset, Doug! Feels a bit rhs heavy though--all the cool stuff is on that side.

Stan, here is a zoomed vertical shot of the rhs.
Phillip, no snow, just rain. Too much local contrast/image polish maybe?

The manual blend looks seemless to me Doug. Nice job of getting the highlights on the sunlit walls under control. I don't mind the comp as-is, the diagonal lines of the left mountain slope help to balance the rest of the scene. The best clouds and light do seem to be on the right though and cropping some of the image could put the emphasis on that. It's an enviable problem to have many cropping options, all with possible good-looking results.

I really like the vertical image with the clouds creeping in. A little more intimate. Of course, I'm not a landscape photographer!

I like the second shot even more than the first, it is a much stronger composition IMO.

I love the second shot. I'd like to see a landscape crop from the mid-section, or even possibly a square crop.
