This is a crop of an original photo which had the sun more centered in the photo. So learning from previous posts and comments I have cropped the sun to the side while still including the gold edged clouds. Comments welcomed.

Nice start, Robert. Now you need to find something to put in the front of the sunset for an even stronger composition.
Nice! Often the strongest thing you can do in an image is to leave lots of open space, as you've demonstrated.

Yup, nice and simple.
I think I'd crop out about half way down to the top clouds. I don't think you need that much blank sky up there. Then I'd clone out that thing-a-ma-jig on the beach.

Robert, I agree with Mark's comments above. Also, I think the horizon looks a bit like it is going downhill.
Robert,
First of all, welcome to the forum! Aside from the other comment's which I agree with, It does look a little soft. Maybe a little more sharpening would help. I also agree that these type of shots need a little more to hold the interest. BTW, we can sometimes be a tough bunch on this forum. But that's what were here for.
John- Your comment on putting something in front of the sunset is well taken. I have taken many; many sunset pictures with different things in the foreground, beach grass, people etc. and those things do work. What I liked about this sunset was the salmon color and the subtleness of the photo and tried to emphasize this by making reference to this in the title. This is not a flashy sunset but I still think it is a beautiful sunset.
Eric Lee- thanks for your compliment on my photo.
Mark- I am not able to calibrate my monitor to optimum specs so I didn't even notice the thing-a-ma-jigs in the FG. I think you told me before to go for a large CRT which I can see that I really need.
Tim- You’re right. After you brought up the suggestion about the horizon I could see that it is slightly off of level.
Eric L- When I posted this photo and saw it on the forum in larger size I too noticed the softness which I think is more pronounced in the FG. I have increased the sharpness on the photo and you are right it works.
Yes, this forum is sometimes tough and I am learning to take it all with a grain of salt. Most of these comments were suggestions of what I COULD do to fix this photo.
I will say that this PNWNP is kinder than the main forums and I like that.
By the way is there a way that I can repost a fixed photo without waiting my 72 hours? Yes I know I could join.....
The COULD do is for the next time. It'll get to the point that when you look through your view finder the first thing you'll think is "what are those guys going to say about this one"! Not that you should photo like anyone else but you'll look around and see mistakes in the photo before you take it.
