Deception Falls
Took this on my trip over Stevens Pass last month. Deception Falls State Park is a cool little stop right on rte. 2 on the way over the pass. It has this falls, plus some nice trails through some lush old growth.

Should I post this on ESS?

Deception Falls indeed. Great structure! I'm sure keeping the lens and feet dry was a challenge.

Kind of. There's actually a platform under the bridge for this view.

Joe, the light on the water is just gorgeous! Beautiful comp. Yes! put it in the Landscape IC Gallery, by all means.
That's one of my favorite places to go, but I thought it was closed, as in barricaded…

Nice shot Joe. Yeah, I would throw it out for critique. Great speed on the water and like CR said the light on the cascade is super.

That light on the water is what really attracted me to this scene Bruce and Catherine. Great minds think alike!

And yes Catherine, the parking lot is barricaded. There was enough room to park in front of it.

Beautiful run of water through this Joe. I really like the vegetation too, it attractively frames the top. My only suggestion would be to change the color balance a tad. On my monitor, it appears a little yellow. This may be how the lighting was at the time, but nevertheless it leads to a bit of a muddy color in the water. You might play with kicking the blue up a bit. You could do it for the entire image, or just restrict it to the water.

The light was a bit golden John, but I see what you're saying. Here's a version that's a bit cooler. Better?

Here's a third, cooler version. The water looks less muddy, but the quality of the light is also diminished I think.

And here's a B&W version for comparison.

Second version does it for me. Warm but not too warm. Awesome comp Joe. :toast:

Thanks David! I like version 2 best as well.

Number two looks perfect to me Joe!

Yeah # 2, too!
