This is my first post to this site. I have been watching this site for a couple of years and thought it was about time I jumped in and posted a few shot. This first shot is from Sloan lake in Denver. One of the members here has posted several shot of these impressive birds at Sloan Lake over the past 2 year and I have spent time there because of his posts. Thanks.

Larry, you can enter the photo URL directly into the "Enter URL address of .jpg photo" field when you make the post and the photo will appear.

Hi Larry and welcome to the forum, at least welcome out of the lurking shadows with your first post!. This is a great first post indeed. I like the behavior pictured and the reflection in the lake makes the image twice as impressive. Nice job of keeping the highlights from becoming washed out too, not an easy task when photographing animals with white feathers/fur!

P.S. I've made your link live and clickable by using the tags in the Text Style Menu you can also find below the emoticons when making a topic post or reply. This will help people find your links (whether they are photos or links to other websites) faster!

Welcome to RMNP! The pose of the pelican works great with the reflection and really nice detail in the feathers. Great first post Larry.

Larry, Welcome to RMNP. You caught a great pose and mirrored reflection. Exposure on the white pelican looks good. A levels adjustment may help brighten his whites.

Nice looking pelican and I like the reflection. Agree could be a little brighter.
