Just noticed- Putting stuff on this site doesn't give the option of putting a thumbnail in your gallery, which I always thought was quite useful. Lines of text don't quite look the same,

Great little bird in a super setting - how I envy those pools of yours!! The colours give a really nice warm autumnal tone.

Another top quality pool shot, John. The detail that the D7000 captures is excellent.

lovely warm Autumnal colours John, a really nice looking image. How you consistently photograph Goldcrests as sharp as this I don't know.

You must be pretty close to this little bird John, I have only seen them flitting about in pine trees, usually at the top. The detail is stunning! I also have a D7000 and its 16MP does resolve an awesome amount of detail but this is at another level! It must be well matched to the Sigma lens
Nick.
Superb John, the positioning of the bird is spot on; even the leaves have parted for you to get the tail in ! Detail is fantastic and I love the slightly raised crest.

Your very fortunate to get these shots John Superb as always.

Very nice shot John, getting a sharp shot of a goldcrest at 1/125th is worthy of praise in itself. Autumn colours are nice here too. Horizon looks way off to my eye sloping down to the right but i'm sort of wondering if it's just sort of an illusion from the lines in the image or i'm just seeing things as nobody else has metioned it.

Thanks all

Yes I think its a fluke of the front leaves going at an angle. The leaves in the back are more or less in a straight line across.
A rotation to the left would still look OK though I reckon.
Too much time on the ocean waves !!

Very nice. Like the bigger photograph as the detail is better.
