Where would we be without our NW correspondant

Cool shot with bags of detail in the head blacks and body whites. :toast:

Hi Phil,
the detail on the head is awesome and really pulls the eye in. You did really well to keep the focus on the head whilst in flight with a beast like the 200-400mm! :toast: The rear part of the bird including the trailing leg is very soft - is that through shooting through some foilage or is it the shallow DOF at f4?. Print it large Sir!
Nick.

that's a lovely shot Phil, a nice pose and good light too. You could maybe boost the contrast a bit on the trailing leg to reduce the effect of the OOF foliage.

Hi Phil. Really nice shot. Pose is great and i like how the light catches the face

Very well caught. Have you lightened the area around the eye at all or is it just the light? Good to see you back and I too prefer this forum style.

Sup[erb flight shot! I don't mind the soft area at all, but I also wonder if you've over-lightened the eye and would tone it down. I also agree it would be lovely on the wall!

A cracker Phil. I actually like OOF effect as looks as if it is just coming out of the mist
