In Sepia....
Canada Goose
1DsM2, 400/2.8 +1.4, GT3530 + BWG.
ISO400, 1/250 @ f8, Fill Flash 550EX + BB @ -1 1/3.
Raw to Lightroom 3, sharpen for web in Elements 10.
Slight crop to correct (I hope!) wonky water...

One from this morning...

Sometimes a common subject and not ideal conditions can combine to make an image... all colour here is natural and as recorded... I quite like the sepia effect.

All the best

A real autumnal effect Phil. Very subtle use of fill flash, would hardly have known you used any (which of course is the ideal requirement of fill).

Naughty boy - been out with your camera !!
Worth it though.

Lovely shot Phil! Nice colours and I would never have guessed that you had used flash. :toast:

Cracking detail on the goose Phil! :toast: The circular highlights on the water are a little distracting for me, is that a flash problem although if you had not mentioned the fill flash I would not have known you had used a flash.

I never find it easy to make the more common subjects look good, but you have done that here, Phil. The flat light looks great, even with the slight lift of fill flash. Very slight nit re the specular highlights covered.

Ticks all the boxes for me, the framing/colours work perfectly

Love the tones in thie image Phil. The isolation of the head really sets it off.

I like this sort of image - a very effective treatment of a common subject.
