I went out for a little bit this evening to see what was blooming and found quite a few may apples. These are flowers I've always loved, but have had difficulty doing them justice.

Beautiful Tim, I really like the comp and the soft even light. The addition of the "vine" is a very nice touch. I'm on my work monitor but there seems to be just a hint of yellow in the petals too, so I'm anxious to see this at home.
I was first introduced to May Apples in one of Tim E.'s books and I've seen a few on NPN. I'm glad you posted this because I just got to the office from an early morning shoot and I made some images of my first may apples ever. Hopefully I will have something worth while to add to this beauty!
Very nice Tim! This is a great comp, and the lighting does so much to enhance the beauty.
These have always been difficult to photograph, mainly because most of them I see are angled toward the ground. DOF then becomes a real problem because you can't square up the camera with bloom. Nice job on this one. Thanks for posting.!
Great job here, Tim. I've never been able to get an open bloom that I liked. You've done an excellent job capturing detail, and the comp is quite interesting.
