Great to see some names re-appearing and the pinged message when there is a posting seems to be more frequent here's to better times.
From the inspiration in posts here I have been chasing macro subjects this year and enjoyed every minute.
I'd really appreciate any Critique, Advice or Comments.
Thank you for looking.

Hi Barry,
A good, sharp image with a great background. My only nit is about the format. This shot would have been better in portrait format in my opinion, with the butterfly towards the top of the frame looking down.

I'd agree with David on that.
Nice one otherwise.

these butterflies do lend themselves to portrait images and for this one to work better in landscape I think it would need to be a bit smaller in the frame to show more of the perch. The techs all look good though - nice and sharp, well exposed and a nice background.

I gave up on macro, way to fast and loose. Excellent shot of this guy though.

Thank you guy's for the comments I did in fact take a few in portrait but they were not so sharp wing blur crept in.
I'll keep trying.

I agree with David, but otherwise a lovely sharp shot.
Certainly getting there Barry... I am an advocate of using a tripod and have only ever managed one sharp handheld close up image...its hard to tell on a small image but the top of the wing looks a little soft but that is minor, very difficult getting the sensor plane lined up with your subject, the bg is nice with a pleasant warm tone thats sets of the image nicely, as stated a bit more room around if going for a landscape image particularly at the bottom...
Keep at it & certainly looking forward to more from you....

Looks good to me - I'd certainly be happy to have taken it as I have had little success so far with these.
