I'm planning to purchase CS2 soon. I went to adobe website and checked prices etc. Then googled and found offers at E**y from 280 Euro to 390 Euro for 'full version' (I'm not sure what that really mean). If I see anything for about half the price it is a *warning* bell for me. Have you ever purchased softwares at the site?

I wouldn't do it. You may get something that works but is not eligible for upgrades or support so in time you'll end up spending more money and time on it than if you just bought from a legitimate source. I would suggest biting the bullet and paying for a full version once. After that you just pay for upgrades.

Guy,
I was suspicious right from the start anyways. What I find strange is how such software can be sold (openly).

Chris,
Thanks. I have seen the classified. The problem is it has too many things I don't need. The price is little stiff and I will have to pay customs/postage to Germany. I guess, I will check the upgrade to CS2.

Prashant, I agree with Guy that you have to be very careful buying software thru ebay, and it can be done. I bought my CS2 from ebay ($275 I think) and it was fully registerable, etc. I don't remember who I bought it from but I can look it up for you if you wish. The package included a previous version (v. 6 in my case), and an CS2 upgrade. I didn't even have to load the version 6, just needed the serial number - performed the upgrade, registered it w/ adobe, and everything works like a charm. I checked the performance rating of the seller carefully - thay had tons of sales with a 99+% approval rating. It's a scary way to buy at times, but I think it can be done safely. I've also purchased 3-4 cameras over the years from ebay and never had a problem. Just be careful who you deal with, and talk or email them with any questions BEFORE you purchase.
