Nikon D7000 300mm f4 ISO 800 1/250 at f8 hand held. About 70% of original frame
Rumaging about woods near Aviemore today and managed to get one of these little Crested Tits. Boy are they fast! A lot of blurred shots discarded. Comments warmly welcomed.
Nick.

Aha - the lichen isn't upside down This is a great crestie shot indeed! Sharp (my own experience is that few are) and an excellent pose. My only concern is the colour balance, which is perhaps a little on the warm side - it appears you had some strong sunshine. I was up there last week and found some surprisingly quickly. Conditions weren't favourable though, but I'll be back!

Cracking shot Nick. Superb sharpness for 1/250th and love the little chap's crest! Nicely caught.

I can honestly say I've never had the opportunity to photograph these little guys - so I'm envious
I agree with Ian's comments about colour balance, and I'm never overly keen on broken 'branch ends' - but the pose is a cracker and it's all sharp where it matters

A touch warm but classical crestie shot. Haven't seen any yet this year.

I agree that the image is rather on the warm side and rather lacking in contrast. It also appears to be posted in an RGB colour space, rather than being tagged with an sRGB profile and this may account for colour. I'm not sure how much image posting you've done, but for most web forum purposes, it is better to convert your images to an sRGB profile for posting.

a lovely alert pose and a great looking bird. Colour space aside, my only nit would be the perch which is not particularly attractive.

Beautiful shot Nick
What a wonderful little bird he is, sharp in all the right places.
Minor nits have been picked.

Many, many thanks for all you comments and Phil was correct with the image being posted in Adobe and not sRGB. I altered the colour profile and it made it a little cooler so thanks for that. The perch is not ideal but it was quite low and I suspect deer had chewed off the bark and probably broke the end off but at least the lichen was the right way up I was very pleased to get this little bird, especially with its prominent crest. Happy days!
Nick.
