I am considering using a camera adapter to take photographs of Bald Eagles through my Vortex Razor HD spotting scope with a Canon 7D. Eagles are still endangered in New Jersey and it is unlawful to get closer than 1000ft. I would appreciate any comments and/or suggestions before I buy an adapter. Thanks,

The practice of focusing a digital camera's lens on the virtual image produced by the eyepiece of a spotting scope or other telescope is called "Digiscoping". It is practiced by thousands of wildlife photographers worldwide. The most helpful list I've found on the topic can be found at :

At one time, I used an adapter for my spotting scope with my old 20D. It worked pretty well. I had a bit if a problem with vignetting, but solved it by adding some extension tubes. :wavey:
