Forgive the lack of comments I have been rather snowed under at work and then up to Andy Astbury's for another day on processing.
I posted this a while back and I got lot of comments to the tune of would look good B & W so after my lastest workshop with Andy and armed with a demo of silver fx pro 2 i had a go. Well actually this is my 6th go...
as ever C&C invited.

Ooh yes, it does make a great b&w. The only thing I might change is to trim off a little of the really dark cloud at the top and give the whole a more letterbox shape. Those are only suggestions though, I like it as it is.

I do like that, I might myself lower the amount of sepia in the toning but personal taste. Great work.

Hi Phil, keeping going back to this image but it just doesn't do anything for me. It is quite grainy and I think it's the fact that you have elephants at either side of the photo moving out of the picture. I am going to be in the minority with my opinion and as the saying goes you just can't please all of the people all of the time!

Phil, I think this would have more impact in a letterbox format as David suggests. I'm with the majority, in that I think this image has promise and I personally like the B&W processing and grain.

Letter box for me as well Phil. I will definately look through my Ele library for shots to convert to B&W after this encouragement

I'm not keen on B&W normally, but I like this. The more clouds the merrier as far as I am concerned. The 'grain' adds to the dramatic feel to this image, IMHO.

I like this a lot Phil especially the dramatic clouds. The vignetting is perhaps a bit strong, particularly at the sides and bottom corners but I like everything else.
I think I made some similar comments to Nick McKeown's regarding the composition when you first posted this one Neil, and that still stands; but I must say that I do like the mono treatment given to it here. Now if you could just pop back and ask those two very nice elephants on the outside if they would just like to turn around for a second or two ?????

Overall, I like it. However I agree about the graininess which presumably is a result of the processing and I would personally crop out most of the dark clouds on the top.
I really like this as is. The clouds add a lot to the image as well as the Hefalumps so I'd keep the crop as it is.
