I'm kinda on the fence about this one and thought I'd lob it out here for feedback. I'm calling this one "The End Is Near". What say you? Clicky the larger link above right.

Thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh, I like this one a lot because I may have shot this exact spot in the Maroon Valley area after I met you at the lake! I love the comp. The foreground aspens do a nice job anchoring the image. The following are just suggestions considering what I’m seeing on my monitor may be already happening on your monitor. Thus only slight adjustments to your taste. The lighting seems flat because it was flat that morning. Maybe try punching up just the reds and yellows a notch in Selective Color to add more scenic interest in the flat light. Playing around in Curves to add some luminance might help too.

I'm with Kane. I like the image, but it needs something more in the lighting category. I'm no LR expert so i can't tell you exactly what it would take. It's a good comp, just a little flat.

Not sure why you're on the fence here, it's a very nice comp in beautiful conditions. I can see giving it a little more glow in post, but I'd definitely look to keep it subtle. I like the soft light here. The only slightly off note for me is the dead wood and pile of dirt in the foreground aspens. Not much to be done about those, but I'd be curious if you have any comps that eliminate or mitigate them.

I agree... a little more pop in the reds and yellows and you've got a winner here. Nice comp.

I like it a lot. Sure, could use a little juice, but it's a nice pic either way.

I really like the warm color of the leaves scattered though out the image. Very nice.

This looks like Owl Creek Pass near Silver Jack - is it? I think I might have been there the same day. I like this very much. Great processing, crisp and clean composition.

I like this very much - lots of colour and texture to enjoy. It might benefit from warming up slightly on color temp front (the snow appears a little on the blue side), and I'd consider losing/taming the bright spot of snow in the top right corner.

I like it, and as others have said, it needs just nudge.

Dittos above, but consider cropping a little off the left. It seems off-balance ("heavy" on the right side).

Nothing new to add about giving it more pop, but agree with that. I really like the comp on this, it has almost an abstract feel to it for me....especially the patterns created on the mountain with the varying colors of the trees. Nice work.

I like this a lot as well. I think this composition and treatment give a good sense of space. Having been in this or a similar place, I can really feel present there. Nice work

I feel the trees on the bottom left help to anchor the scene and actually like the zig-zagging stands going up into the right corner. Looks cold!

Thanks everyone for the feedback! :wavey:
