They're not blessed with a lot of thought power, be quite a nuisance and get up to totally incomprehensible antics, this is a nice image that shows the character nicely...

Great colours John and bags of detail in the image. They do indeed seem remarkably dim at times considering how quick they are to work out how to get at food! Or maybe it's just me that's dim for failing to understand what they are up to!!

Great photo John. Love the sharpness. They are more intelligent than we give them credit for, he was just posing for you!!

Hmm... not convinced about the intelligence myself, although I will admit that they are brilliant at emptying my feeders of bird food. Great picture btw.
Nice setting John, very autumnal and an interesting behavioural shot.
Squirrels are pretty intelligent creatures, although their actions do not not seem to suggest it sometimes! I've noticed Red Squirrels pausing for long periods of time motionless or staring at something. Its almost like they go into a trance. Give them a problem though and they will more often than not, solve it. Remember the BBC program on Grey Squirrels where a Krypton Factor type assault course, full of tricky obstacles, was set up for them? Of course a lot of this involves repetition and the desire for food but it also requires a good memory.

It's a superb picture, composed expertly - I like the way the squirrel and the leaves all lead towards the focal point.

I do like the natural setting John and the autumnal look.
