I need to know how to size an image for display on a 47" 1080p LCD TV. I would prefer not to make the software downsize a full resolution file; I guess I need to know how many pixels wide do I need for a full screen display on this TV?

A 1080p TV has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels according to Wikipedia.

Watch out for the image looking over-sharpened on the TV. I noticed that happened to several of my images that were definitely not over-sharpened for my computer monitor (Lenovo 22" 1920x1200).
