The DC area is into its annual brown on brown season, so I went trolling in my archives and found this image.
When I took this image in Antelope Canyon, I was captivated by the way the light from the entrance was brightening the edges of the left wall that resembles a series of columns.
Unfortunately, the hot spot defies all efforts to tone it down. I even tried cloning in from other images, but nothing looked even remotely satisfactory. This shot before I knew about the value of taking multiple images at different exposures so I could combine them later.
Oh, well, maybe next time.
As always, C&C is most welcome.

Regardless of the hot spot, it is nice be able to find this in the archives. It looks like a beautiful place!

I'm not too bothered by the hotspot, looks like your work to tone it down a little has improved it. The color balance appears a bit cold on my monitor, perhaps adding some yellow and red might warm it up. The image also might benefit from just a tiny bump in saturation as the colors appear somewhat muted IMO. This is a beautiful place and definitely a great scene to witness!

Thanks, Anne, I'm glad you liked it.
Joshua, I appreciate the comment about the color balance. I spent a lot of time fiddling around with it, but in the end I settled on this look because I felt it more accurately conveyed the mood and feel of the place when I made the shot. It was around Noon in early October, and the interior of the canyon was dark (compared to the blazing sunlight outside) and just a tad on the chilly side even though it was quite warm in the sunlight. I tried warmer versions, but always came away feeling they were too warm for my taste.
