Winter
I'm finally starting to get out and enjoy the snow. I haven't managed to get any epic light so I've just focused on doing some more close-up work. As always, your comments and suggestions are appreciated!

Very nice, Erik!! I like 1, 6, 7. Number 7 is exceptional! Love those clouds! I really like #6 as well. Beautiful Shot! :toast: :toast:

#2 and #7. Like the b&w processing. Boy the Loch looks like a nice place to freeze to death. Erik, do you know what the ice looks like at Dream? It's obviously under a ft of new snow but was wondering if you know or have heard if it's starting to firm up?

Nice work as usual. I am partial to the ptarmigan and the two brothers, and those are some nice clouds in #7! Boy, these look cold!

Love #1 and #7 - well done!

Thanks everyone for your comments. Kane, I haven't been up to Dream for a while but generally the best ice doesn't show up until later in the winter, often the end of Jan or February.

Erik, I like the scattered waterpocket shapes and color of the rock against the snow, so #3 for me.

#2 and # 7 for me too. Composition on #2 is perfect. Good to see you posting again here, too!

I really like the first and the last. Those lecticulars are spectacular.

Thanks guys! It is always interesting to see which ones people like. It looks like #7 is the winner so I'll probably add it to my website. Thanks again!

My favorite is the ptarmigan image. Looks like there is a nice subtle swath of spotlighting through the frame and I love the how the pure white plumage of the bird is set off by the bluish-colored snow. My second favorite is the lenticular cloud (#7), that's just a mind-blowing photo and I bet it was a great scene to witness. Don't forget about #2, I like the simplicity of the two trees in the snow, and #5, the vignetting frames this scene very well!

Okay, I'm going to join the crowd and vote for #7 as the stand-out image along with almost everyone else. Those really are spectacular clouds. To my eyes, #2 looks a trifle off-balance, with no compelling reason that is obvious to the viewer why the two trees should be moved off-center so far. Perhaps a slight crop on the right side?

I recognize those two little trees from, I think, Jim Casteel. All are, of course, amazing but that last one with the lenticular clouds blows me away! Those are my favorite cloud formations!

Glenn, thanks for your comment and suggestion. I thought about placing those trees more central as you suggested but I found that I preferred them in this position. I guess it's just personal preference. Josh and Pam, thanks for your input!
