My wife and I made a trip between Divide and Victor, Co in early October. The aspen colors were outstanding, The most vivid I have ever seen. Below are a couple my favorites from the trip and are shown in large size.

Thanks Kane and Anne: It was a perfect day lots of sunshine and clouds, although a little windy. It turns out it was the perfect choice of days as a snow storm moved into the area the next day and dropped 6 to 8 inches of snow. I guess we got lucky that time ;O).

#2 looks great to me also. The leaf colors look right about peak and I like the simple composition that puts emphasis on the tree-covered hills and the nice grassy green foreground.

Great color in both shots. #2 stands well on its own; perhaps crop #1 to a panorama to eliminate some of the less attractive foreground? Another possible tweak: the shadowed but colorful aspen in #1 are so dark we don't immediately get much sense of just how great the color is in that area. Perhaps lighten those shadows a bit?

Great timing on your part. I agree on the bottom crop for the first one and lifting the shadows some.

I think #2 is the winner here.
