My Fall, 2011
This fall was an interesting one, complicated with car troubles, minor injuries and mostly clear skies. Even still I managed to get a few images I am happy with.

You can see more of my trip to Southern Colorado, and Utah on my fall 2011 gallery

C&C appreciated.

The last remnants of fall.

You had a very productive trip, despite all the troubles. Great gallery. :toast:

FYI, I had a bit of trouble using the forward and backward arrows to navigate.
Either the arrows didn't work, or the images started jumping back and forth rapidly.
After a few attempts, the arrows did work, about midway through the gallery.

I like the little friend you found at Archangel.

Wonderful images, Jim. My favorite is probably the horizontal shot of the slot of water in Left Fork creek in Zion, although it was difficult to decide over another half dozen that were also its equal, like the snowy MaroonBells reflection, and the Subway pool.
What's the story behind the little box creature, Max?

Jim, very nice set. The image colors from the subway hike are real deep (looks good), but not oversaturated to the eye. I like most the first from CR5?, the horizontal slot, and the tractor. The "last remnants" is the least favored, maybe because the aspens are weak in color. To me, the peak of Maroon Bells seems a little tight to the top edge.

Pretty shots, Jim--ill take a closer look at the collection later--i agree with Doug's critique above. :wavey:

Jim, for all the trouble you had, you sure came away with a bunch of winners. As you already know, my personal favorite is #20. I just love that image! You had so many others in there as well that were terrific, particularly the snowy autumn scenes and the yellow leaves behind the tractor. Well done sir!!!

Excellent collection Jim! Subway shots are always cool, #6- lovin' it, the tractor image with the yellow leaves is very cool. Nice work. I'm glad the injuries were only minor.

Very worthy collection, Jim! The tractor shots are fun and unusual, and I also like the crack in #9. And I think last remnants is sweet, though I've been into subtle colors lately.

Great series Jim! Loved the Zion shots and the intimates.

Terrific collection of images Jim! I don't even want to try and pick just one favorite, but my top 3 might be 7, 8 and 16

Sweet series Jim. Definitely hard to pick favorites, but I like your snowy Maroon Bells shot in color, the horizontal Zion crack, ArchAngel Falls and the aspen abstract most of all. Thanks for showing us these, they were a pleasure to view!

Thank you for all of your comments. I really appreciate it.

For those interested, Max is a little toy that I bring with me places. He is more an action figure from a Japanese cartoon Yotsuba&!. His body and head move around to many different positions. A few years back I saw someone who had done something similar, where they would put an action figure in many different positions around their house displaying different emotions. I figured it was something that would help me express my emotions as I was shooting. Turned out it is just fun.

I have a few more images of Max and his little brother Dexter in a facebook gallery.

All of these are top notch Jim! You would never know the grief you endured from their superb quality :toast: I can't pick a favorite, they are all so good!

Glad you persevered! Great series, Jim, but I enjoy the intimate aspen shots the best. Hope to see you in 2012....perhaps a west coast trip?
