Why blow gas $ if you can just stay home and enjoy the show? Well, ok if i didnt have to work in the afternoon i would have blown some gas, but i figured yesterday morning would be pretty sweet down by the lake (pueblo) so thats where i was for a couple hours, lots to photograph! Here's a typical scene not far from the N shore.

5) Close up of tree

6) This is my personal fav of the bunch--i dont know why it moved me, but i just thought there was something cool about that lonely critter making its way through the stark landscape.

7) Foggy edge of the lake

8) Fog finally burned off around 11ish. That's all--thanks for sticking thru to the end!
Stan, I have to agree with you about #6. That works very well. It is my favorite of the bunch. Most of them are really great! My next favorites are #3 & #4. I guess I'm not artsy enough for #1 and #8. They just don't grab me. I think you could make #8 better with some additional cropping.

I like 2, and then 1. I wish 2 had just a little more trunk at the bottom though. Might crop the left of 1 to rid the tree's edge.

I wasn't sure at first if 6 was my fave, but after looking at them all for a bit 6 is resonating with me the most. I like the range of images you got, all with something unique to offer.

Numbers 3 and 4 certainly capture some unsual conditions, just not sure where or how they would be used in a commercial sense (not that every photograph needs to have sales appeal!). Number 2 could be a Christmas card, particularly in the color version, I would guess. And I do feel an emotional tug from your photo of animal tracks through the snow.

Oh c'mon now, Glenn--just think of the tourism potential here "Come on down to Lake Pueblo in Winter--you can freeze your butt off in the sub zero weather, and not even ice fish cause there's no ice!"

I like 1 and 3 though I'm not too fond on the square crops (just personal preference). 3 has a very unique feel to it with the atmosphere.
#3 and #6. I think #3 is the winner here. I know you're not into Artistic Interpretation .. ..but...maybe if you isolate the upper 2/3rds and played around in Curves (or your process of choice) to darken just the background and add some contrast, you may end up with an image that appeals to an army of customers waiting to spend their hard earned cash on a splendid image! Or, not... it's just an opinion right?

2,3, and 6 for me. I like #2 best.

#3 is an easy favorite over the others, simple and beautiful comp !

I'll go along with Don on #3. Very captivating.

Nice collection Stan. I am most partial to #3. LOVE how the frost covered weeds...very creative. I think #1 is my second favorite and I think #2 would have been my favorite if it was of a single tree with the light. Not sure that shot would have been possible, but with both trees cut off at the edges, I think it takes away from the scene...at least that is one person's opinion.

These are awesome Stan. So many different shots to choose from. I think I like #4 the best, it has a sort of yin-yang-like quality to it that is unusual to see. Nice leading lines. #6 is certainly up there for me too, the footprints are compelling and make you wonder what animal traveled through there. #7 is one of my favorites as well, the fog adds a dramatically mysterious feel not shared by the other shots. Finally, #3 is interesting to me, but I think it has a lot of extraneous space on the right side. With about a quarter of the image cropped off the right, I would love that image.

I really like 3 and 4, they have a very "other-worldly" look to them. Nice work!
