Another shot from the California trip. The sun and clouds were doing a dance and completely out of step, I guess I was part of the dance trying to capture some light on the tree.javascript: x()

To me, this image seems a little flat and could use a contrast boost. Also, would like to see the whole tree..it just feels too cut off. Use of thirds is good though.

Thanks for the comments Jack: I actually grabber the wrong file to post. I had increased the contrast and leveled the horizon on the correct file, which is post here. The tree did give me a problem on how to frame: Including all the tree made the composition too centered, trying the use the 1/3 rule meant cutting off part of the tree. I chose the latter. Thanks again for the comments.

The intended file/repost is much better. Could you have backed up some to include the whole tree and then off-centered it in the frame?

Thanks for the comment Doug: I tried a number of shots from different positions, only got a few with good light on the tree. As I mentioned above the sun and clouds were dancing and this was the best lighting of the group.

The color on the repost definitely looks better to me. I also wish more of the left side of the tree was included in the frame - I'd be willing to throw the rule of thirds out the window in this case. A couple of dust spots exist in the sky to clone out too.

Your repost is much much better. I do feel a little cramped in the view.
