Although I enjoy taking snowboarding shots (or trying to) I don't do it very often, usually because I'd rather just ride! Yep, sorry to say it, but for me photography takes a back seat to snowboarding! So in the winter I hardly ever take photos of riding, but in the spring it's easier for me because there's no mad rush for powder.
imho, nature action photography is much more difficult than straight landscapes. I like to try to show the person in context of the greater setting, but it's difficult to do that without making the person look so tiny like a flea. Anyhow I'm happy with the shot that I will post here, of my buddy Jason hauling ass.
It sounds like you had a nice relaxing outing, only 7 hours of hiking to get to the summit! That's what I call a serious snowboarding addiction. What a great adventure and it sounds like you had ideal conditions. I enjoyed seeing the photos and report. Thanks for posting them!

I agree with you on the notion that sports/action/nature photography is harder than landscape photography. I feel the same way about those who are good at wildlife photography. Both take the skills required by landscape photography, but require a whole other level of skill sets, both mental and physical, to achieve.
Cool Torreys shot.

Excellent! Great report too.
I envy you youngsters who have the time to go play!
(I couldn't even make it half way up that mountain let alone have the stamina to slide back down - without injury!)

Oh, if only I had the time for such adventures in the middle of the week. Sounds like a really fun trip. Sure 7 hours of hiking takes a while, but I bet the half hour (or faster?) ride down made it all worth while. Thanks for sharing.
