A lovely shot Philip. I like the out of focus branches(?) framing the vole. Being picky I'd prefer it if the out of focus part started a little further away around the nose but I doubt you could have done anything about that at the time.

A great shot of a rarely seen mammal (for me at least!). Agree with Graham's comments but overall a really effective image - and from a fellow D200 user too! :toast:

Hi,

Difficult shot of a mammal that is very hard to see let alone photograph, perhaps lose a little from the right hand side and clone/tone down the highlight near the posterior (I know you dislike doing too much to your images but it is a bit too bright). I like it despite the restricted view.

A beautifully detailed image of the vole. My personal preference would be to see more of the background for a feeling of its natural habitat, without detracting too much from the main subject.

Hi Philip,
What a very nice shot to have in your collection.Great to get a good view of an often very elusive mammal,I like the way the out of focus folliage frames the vole,it gives the image an intimate feel and kind of shows the vole's secretive nature.
