Ancient Thrush
Song Thrush
Another found whilst sorting ! Am beginning to forget stuff especilly when it goes into the wrong folder. This came out of one called "Bus trips" !!!
This is a photographed slide originally taken in 1971 on Ecktachrome.
Taken through a window at a very acute angle so there was a haze over most of the pic which has taken a lot of getting rid off. The interesting thing is that I have never managed to get a Thrush on its anvil since. This was on a rockery outside the room window.
Oh for modern gear !
Pentax S1A Tamron 70-210mm
Copied on D7000 with Sigma 150 mm macro.
Processed paint Shop Pro
All sorts of stuff !!
Cheers

In a folder marked "bus trips"? What you were thinking of when you filed it in there?

Possibly that the shot was just the ticket? If you got a song thrush on an anvil once, it is once more than I have managed.

You certainly seem to have the knack of getting the best out of your old slides John.

image quality looks good John, it's a nice behavioural shot. The biggest problem I would have trying to photograph a Song Thrush on its anvil is actually finding a Song Thrush :frown:

Great processing to get the colours nailed from old slides. Subject isn't too shabby either, I've never seen one on the anvil, heard plenty of tapping but never been quick enough off the mark to capture the action!

Great shot showing a pretty unique behaviour.
