Shots from Above
When at the Grand Canyon last weekend, I was given the opportunity to take a flight over the canyon in an Otter with Grand Canyon Airlines. I chose the earliest flight at 9 AM hoping for the angled light. The view and the angles changed quickly in flight. Certainly gave some new perspectives. I think that the plane windows gave a green cast to some images that I struggled to remove. Here are a couple that I think turned out OK. I kept the 70-300 on figuring that zooming for close-ups would be better.

I like number 1 the best, followed by number 4. (I'm always a sucker for the grand view.) As for removing the green cast: Have you tried using the White Balance Tool in Lightroom to click on the snow atop the butte? Both Curves and Levels have gray eyedropper tools that do the same thing. Snow in sun should probably be pretty close to neutral. Hope that helps!

Very nice series Doug: I really like #3, it has a real 3D look. I feel like I can almost touch the ridge rocks! Thanks for sharing.

Always nice to get a new perspective. #4 is my favorite closely followed by #3. Both of those are easily identifiable and representative of the Grand Canyon. Well done!

Very nice images. Like the strong vertical in the first. Also like the light dusting of snow.

2,1,3,4--in that order, but all nice!
