My friend Ron and I had a nice foggy day this fall for this image of the Indian Berry Fields from Surprise Lakes. A little windy higher up but fairly calm down by the lake. The image was taken 11/15/11 which is rather late for this much color. But that was true in many areas this fall.

Excellent color Phil from front to back. Even though it's not a mirror reflection it's gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
I'm not familiar with this area.....I'l have to google it.
Have a great holiday.

Bruce,
Thanks, it was a very spectacular view! There are a number of ways to get here. I prefer going east out of Portland and crossing at Cascade Locks. Then take the Cook Underwood Road north and turn left at the Willard Road junction. Next turn left at FR 66. Take FR 66 to its junction with FR 24 coming west out of Trout Lake. Go north on FR 24 to get to the Indian Berry Fields. Along the way you will pass by many opportunities for images including Big Lava Bed.

I have updated this image after having viewed some instructional videos by Michael Frye. I believe this is a better result for the emotive feeling at the time of the image creation.
I have not updated the large image as I don't see any way to do that. Perhaps one of the moderators can jump in here.
