You can get the LowePro Speedster strap for $5 and free shipping at this place. My 5D2 strap is stiff and a little more advertising than I should have for my camera. One thing to note, it's also quick-release, and I don't know how strong it is, although Lowepro usually makes good stuff. A T3i with a 50mm won't be an issue probably, but QR straps with a heavier 5D2 or 1Ds with a 70-200mm might push the QR clips to their limit. For 5 bucks I'll take the chance and see.
BTW, I've purchased from this supplier before and they were spot on, fast shipping.

Thanks Paul. I did make a purchase there, but I didn't get that $5 one, even though it's a great deal. I already have a Lowepro Voyager C strap, which is similar, but with wider, padded strap and removable 2-memory card wallet. That wider, padded strap is great for heavy loads for a long time. My only complaint was its lack of adjustability (a bit too short -- same complaint as I have heard about the $5 Speedster). So I bougth the Lowepro Transporter strap from that place for $15, which is a good deal considering the free shipping. Now I can swap these two straps on my two bodies since I already have the short part of the QR staps on one body now.
QR STRAPS on the Lowepros: Some reviewers complained that they are too easy to detatch, but that was not a problem for me in two years of heavy use. They do come apart easily, but ONLY if you squeeze both sides of the QR release at once -- You can push one side as much as you want and it will not release (at least on mine -- not responsible if yours does not work that way. If you are paranoid make a double-loop cord back-up with a slip knot.). It has held my cameras fine with a heavy Canon 100-400.

Great info Wayne, thanks! If it ends up being too short I'll give to a friend of mine who isn't as husky.
