I just wanted to send out my Merry Christmas wishes to all our PNWNP members and their families. Thank you for your wonderful postings and for critiquing my work. I hope the New Year is both a healthy one for you and brings many photo opportunities to you.
I'm calling this my "Christmas Goose," a Snow Goose shot yesterday at Ridgefield. This is a new bird for me and while they are not that common in our area, they are seen occasionally. This lone snow goose was dining at the salad buffet with several of his Canadian friends.
The resolution could have been better if it wasn't so dark and foggy, but I'll take a new bird anytime.
Thanks, Craig! Merry Christmas to you, too. This is a fine shot; love the mouth full of grass and the head of its Canadian cousin in the background.
Sometime you must come north to the Skagit Valley near Mt. Vernon, where thousands of Snow Geese and Tundra swans winter over in the farm fields. I think you'd surely get a kick out of it. Red tailed hawks and Bald Eagles keep the flocks active, and it's amazing to see and HEAR the thousands lift off simultaneously! Usually great now through February.
