It is snowing in Denver and cold, so I am inside working on some old photos. Here is one from Grand Canyon taken in 2008. This scene is from the South Rim near the watchtower, looking down on the Colorado River.

NIce scenic Larry! Two small things for me on this one....those dark areas on the right probably need to be cropped out and perhaps a small crop on the bottom to remove that one little snow covered area left of center. Everything else looks great.

Hope to never tire of Canyon views. I agree with Jack's crop suggestions. Maybe bring the reds out more, especially of the sunlit east wall, as there appears to be greenish overtone on the rock. I like the river showing by refecting the light.

Nice image, Larry! Looks like you used a polarizer, which had the benefit of beautifully enhancing the contrast in the sunlit portions of the scene, but probably also increased the global contrast, darkening the shadows at lower left. For my taste, there's a bit too much black in the frame to be ideal. With that quibble, I still like the composition very much, with the diagonal of the river drawing your eye back into the distant canyon.

The repost is on the right track. I like the crop, added contrast and redder cliff walls. The one thing I might change is to selectively reduce the saturation of the blues, especially in the canyon shadows. Seems the first image had a bit more shadow detail and was sharper as well.

By all means, the repost is much better. I like Joshua's suggestion of reducing the saturation of the blues.
