Red Fox(Vulpes vulpes)- Essex, UK
Canon 1Ds Mk3, 300/f2.8, Gitzo 3530LSV, Wimberley WH2.
Manual exposure mode f3.2; 1/100, iso 800.
RAW image processed in Adobe Camera Raw; sharpened in Photoshop CS5; noise reduction using Noiseware Professional Imagenomic; full frame.
I set up a shot for Autumnwatch with the sun setting behind a fox and I've been waiting since early November for a decent sunset to repeat the shot as a still image. Since then I haven't really had the right sort of evening sky to get what I'm after and the position of the sun is now too far south at sunset to get what I'm really after. Yesterday evening we had one of those twilight skies with a band of yellow on the horizon and that's what I used as the background for this shot. The rim lighting comes from an EX580 Mk2 flash set to manual fitted with a CTO gel positioned behind the subject and triggered using PW+2 radio triggers.
Merry Christmas everyone.
