This was my first visit to Johnson Shut-Ins. I didn't know what to expect after this area was flooded by a dam break.
We were the only ones there except for a few workers. From what they told me this place is crawling with visitors during the summer.
Glad we had the exceptional day.

Trying the larger photo function to compare quality.

Merry Christmas Rod. It does look like a cool place to explore, I can see why so many people head here. Really nice aqua colors in the water and the silky flow works well here. Wishing you all the best in 2012!

Hey Rod - I like the low perspective of this shot. That water sure looks cold and the light on the rocks in the middle of the shot seperates the stark background from the flow through the rocks. I like it.

Merry Christmas.

Rod, a great place and great shot. I need to come up so you can show me around.

Anytime Tom. There are a couple of places that I didn't get to.

Wow Rod, nice shot. I have been there and that area is hard to get around with a camera and tripod. Lots of big ole boulders. Looks like you found a good spot.

That really is a neat place, and very interesting geology. I never ceased to be amazed at the color of the water from those Missouri springs...so beautiful. Very nice, Rod - hope you're having a Merry Christmas!

I agree with Merle, that water looks cold! Looks like an interesting place. I think the Ozarks have a totally different feel and appeal to them in the winter. I'm all for less crowds, less humidity and no leaves on the trees so you can actually see around a little bit.

Very interesting Rod. Great color, shadows, and depth. I hope to see you this Spring.
