I'm waiting on the final word, but it looks as though I will be Moving out East to Virginia to the Shenandoah area near Charlottesville. I hope to be out and about as much as possible and I hope I meet many of you as well in the area between DC and North Carolina.
One thing I plan to see in the late spring are waterfalls and any suggestions for really nice ones would be great. I have lived in Northern Virginia and in Norfolk before in my Navy days, but this will still be a new adventure for sure.
Skyline Drive has many fine waterfalls to shoot. When the Visitor's Center reopens in the Spring buy the Waterfalls handbook for a couple of bucks. Tells everything about each individual fall, height, location on Skyline Drive, etc. They also have similar guides for hikes to peaks and Appalachian trail hikes within the park. Don't miss the fawns in late May and June at Big Meadows either.
Route 29 to Route 33 and onto Skyline Drive. Very direct from Charlottesville.
I have plenty more for you but this will get you going. Andrew
