This fall I was at first somewhat dissapoined when two fast moving fronts dumped snow in the high county in Colorado where I was headed. Tried to make lemomnade from lemons by spending a day on the High Road and in Taos. Architecture is one of my favorite subject and did I find an abundance. Here is my take in BW. CC always welcome.

One along the High Road. I am so sorry I missed Adam while in Taos, but, guess I went too early to his gallery.

Beautiful shots, Joe!! I need to get off my butt and get out and the high road is just a few miles from me!! Thanks for the inspiration!

Really great stuff, Joe. I really like the last one a lot, and if you magically made that hand railing disappear, I wouldn't tell a soul. I promise. I might even like to see the margins in the sidewalk go away, too, giving the shot a real rustic feel without a hint of modernity.

Thanks, all for your comments...Todd, the last one is my favorite, too. The rail might just disappear if you close your eyes real tight and think about Tinkerbell

Really like #3 and #5. #3 has got mad form. #5 yeah, a couple edits and its easily something I could see on a wall.
Was one of the two storms about mid-September?

Very nice work, Joe! I'd suggest removing the gas meter in the 4th shot. I wish I would have known that you were going to be in town. I would have tried to work my schedule so we could get together to shoot, but I was gone a lot in October leading workshops at the Grand Canyon.

Adam, I got to Santa Fe with full intentions of heading straight to Ouray area the next day, but a hugh snow storm hit southern Colo. I decided that discretion was going to be the better part of valour and stuck around northern New Mexico to photograph Taos and the High Road was a side trip, however, I missed you, having checked in at your gallery early one morning. Never made it back. There is so much to photograph, Im sure to be back.

These are all spectacular. I didn't have such nice lighting conditions when I photographed at this spot last, it was kind of overcast and drab. The wonderful clouds and play of the shadows you had works well in these, especially with the B&W treatment. #4 is my favorite as well, followed closely by #s3 and 1. Nice job!
