Hi folks, I bet many of my fellow photographers on PNWNP are users of Adobe's Creative Suite package of tools. Here is a link to a blog post I just finished that adresses the curent issue around Adobe's recently changed upgrade policies and why upgrading now is important:
Don't fall into Adobe's trap of having to pay full price when CS 6.0 comes out next year!!!
Cheers everyone and Merry Christmas!!

Hi Rick, I have just upgraded from CS2 to CS5.5 Ultimate. It was a $1200 upgrade and probably my last for a long time. I feel that the policy change at Adobe is going to be a real killer for a lot of part time and hobby photographers. The current upgrade policy was expensive enough for most of us. The time frame from CS2 to CS5 was about 9 years. So in about 12 years from now I might buy new again. By that time they will be charging about $4000 for that same suite.
I will always upgrade immediately for the sheer image quality benefits gained. Even just ACR has improved so much with every step (newly written and improved algorithms) that I would even consider going back to CS4 a huge detriment to my fine art printing quality.
