This is the time to put up the Bluebird and wood duck nesting boxes, for those interested. Your local Audubon Society (or the net) will have plans for making them and placing correctly.
Many local bird societies have ready-made boxes to give you. We put up about 20 (more) last week in my new little community, and I took good note of the ones that are in a good position for sighting with my 500mm when the babies are hatched, and the parents coming in with food (the BB's, at least)

As helpful as it is to put up new boxes, it's also important to clean the old ones, particularly owl and kestrel boxes. Again, your local Audubon chapters can help.
