Thanks everyone for your comments on my last post. As promised, here is a link to my favorite shots from other areas outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. I actually think I do better photography when I'm on trips. Being away from work for an extended time seems to help me get in the groove a bit more. Anyway, I'd love to hear your comments whether positive or negative. Thanks!

Wow, these are beautiful! Although your RMNP portfolio is amazing, I agree that some of your best work is from other places. The second pic, from the Columbia River Gorge, is my favorite. The lighting, composition, and subject matter are superb. For me, that shot is in a different league than the others, which are all very nice. Thanks for sharing these!

(I'm still unsure as to if I can comment in the RMNP forums, so correct me if I'm a bit out of site boundaries...)

Erik---I'm really enjoying these out-of-state images! Rocky Mountain National Park in indeed amazing, but it is so fun to see the way you view the rest of the world. I especially liked the 'Pacific in the Northwest' gallery.

I know I'm an ametuer photographer, but honestly it seems you're images improve (quality, composition, etc.) substantially every year, which is exciting and inspiring to watch!

Anyways, thanks for posting this up here...

In this series the shot with the sheep (lambs?) grazing popped out to me. :toast:

Erik, My two favorites by far and away are the flower in the rock and the beach in Olymipic NP. Artisticlly, they are tops in my opinion.....like everything about them. Too bad about the tripod shake in the beach shot...it would look fantastic as a large print.

Holy Moly Rocky Mountain Man I can't stay mute any longer! What an amazing collection of favorites! I'm really lovin your Punchbowl Falls shot. Way to go and not let a little sunshine get in your way of shooting a waterfall. I'm also really partial to your night shots. I'm hoping I can please, pretty please, get you to share your process on how you figure out exposure on these. How do you control the noise issues? I'm heading to Big Sur this spring and I was hoping to try my hand at some night shots.

Some more awesome-ness, Erik! I really enjoyed the photo of the waves crashing at Rialto Beach and your photo of the stormy day at White Pocket. Awesome stuff, my friend.

Another great collection, Erik, but I have a favorite -- the sheep farm image. Beautiful! The nighttime harbor shot is also amazing.

Fantastic selection of images. I really like all of them. If I was picking my fav of this bunch it would be the 1st one. I love the drama between the colors.

More inspiring work, Mr Stensland. I won't pick a favorite, but that Rialto beach image has really left an impression on me. I'm going to be in the PNW next summer and I may have to pay a visit to this place.

Can't pick a favorite from this batch.

Punchbowl Falls gets the Blue Ribbon here, followed close behind with Arches/Stars and the sheep/sun. U Da Man!

Wow, thank you all for your very kind comments! It means a lot, knowing how skilled each of you is. I remember when I first showed up here in January of 2004 and barely knew which side of the camera to look through. You've all taught me a lot since then and continue to help me see where I need to grow. Thanks everyone! :toast:

An awesome 2011 selection Erik. My favorite is the Punchbowl Falls image, followed closely by the first image, the Olympic coast and the balanced rock at night shots. Here's to a great 2012!
