There seems to be a real influx of these amazing owls around the UK at present, but for me I’ve enjoyed watching them hunt for many years. This year seems to be a great year that may well be as good as 2009 was. Here it was right place right time and he banked backwards here having seen and heard something below. The light, composition and a few other elements came together for this image but mainly luck. Wonderful light over this marshland, bathing the whole place in this warm colour and glow.

Great start to the new year Craig. The light and comp work well for me and I would swap this for any of my own modest SEO efforts
A fantastic image Craig. The obvious plusses are the lighting and the pose. One question for you, as the rim lighting doesn't seem to have caught the LHS of the owls face have you had to enhance that eye. . . or is that how it appeared?
Happy new year to you.
