I received an email from Thomas Manson I was hoping you all could help with:

I will be in the Denver area the 2nd week of January and am interested in finding the best probabilities of good wildlife and landscape shots in the area.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have to offer.

So I wanted to ask you...if you had to choose one place in the Denver area (within 1 hour) to go, where would it be???

Thanks!

My choice would be Roxborough State Park for landscapes. Mule deer are rather plentiful in the morning.

Will he still be in town for the group Raptor shoot?

I was gonna suggest the raptor shoot as well.

Well, Garden of the Gods, of course!

I agree. Garden of the Gods is a good bet for winter sunrise. I also like Cheyenne Canyon down in that area in the winter, particularly if they get some fresh snow.

I like Loveland Pass for accessibility from Denver and unless there is a drastic shift in the weather, you'd have no trouble hiking up onto the ridges above the pass.

Dream Lake is a good option in RMNP

Another option for wildlife is Crown Hill Park in Lakewood.

I've never considered Colorado Springs or RMNP within 1 hour of Denver!

I did ask about his timing regarding the raptor shoot, but he has yet to get back to me. Thanks for the input!
