We are using a new java script this year for the EPA slide show. This one is touted as being very cross-browser friendly, which as far as I can tell it is. It also has a few other neat features, such as being to mouse-over to pause the show, see photo caption/details and link to EPA gallery.
How does it look to you? Are you seeing any issues?
Thanks for your feedback!

No issues from me Jim, it works great.

It looks good in IE 8, Firefox 8 & the latest Google Chrome. In IE8, there is a black line across the screen that the caption emerges from, but it's only a couple of pixels high & is not a big deal, but it's not there on the other two. We've used Lightshow Magic from PVII & it works very well also if you are looking for scripts like this in the future. They do a great job of writing stuff so it works in all browsers.

Wick, thanks for the feedback! Take another look and let me know if that black line is still there.
On Firefox 9 and Chrome the images are hiding the drop down menus.

David, thanks for the feedback. I'm running Firefox 9.0.1 on a PC and they're OK.
Edit - I just installed Chrome and that too looks fine.
I did have an issue with this until I arranged the zindex attributes. On the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome and IE the drop-down menus all drop over the slide show.
Who else is seeing the menus hidden by the slide show?
Jim, cleared the browser caches and on Chrome and Firefox 9.0.1 and Safari 5 the menus are still hidden behind the images. However on IE they display fully in front of the image. It is tempting to think the script is designed for IE and not other browsers but if you are seeing them?

Jim,
Looks great and works fine for me using FF 9.0.1. I think if the images are covering the navigation drop downs, perhaps it's a monitor screen resolution sizing issue. I expect there would be overlapping issues with say older resolutions of 800x600 for example.
Looks great 1920x1080!
thanks for the enhancement.

Looks great on Firefox 9.0.1 @ 1280x1024. Thanks for another nice addition to the site.

I'm running 1900 X 1200 here, and all is well.
When I first set up the slide show, it took a while to get the menus to go over the slide show on Firefox. I made some changes to zindex, but ultimately it was adding a zindex for the slide show div on the style sheet that solved the issue.
I just made a very minor adjustment to the style sheet - David, let me know if it made any difference!
Jim, on my Firefox 9.0.1 it still hides behind the images. I can see the menus until the images load. As nobody else seems to be having this difficulty it would appear to be on my end. If it were screen resolution I would have thought it would have been across all browsers but it seems to work in IE. I'm running a 64 bit OS and wonder if that might be effecting it.

Jim, I am at a loss. 1920 x 1080 on one monitor, 1680 x 1050 on the other. Javascript enabled on Firefox. I do have some privacy add ons on Firefox but they shouldn't affect either Chrome or Safari. On both monitors it still shows as previous, hidden menus in Firefox, Chrome or Safari but they do show in IE. As no one else is reporting this it seems to be unique to my system, but for the life of me I can't think what it may be. Haven't noticed it on other sites.
Jim, Above should have read Java script enabled on Firefox. Regardless of the browser, this is on IE, when I type Java script as one word without the space it doesn't appear on the post. Whether this is on your end or mine is a mystery but it does appear to be something with Java (no space) script.

I have the same problem when I use Firefox on my Lenovo ThinkPad W701DS with a 1920X1200 screen. This does not occur on my Dell 6500 with 1900X1200 screen using IE.

I'm on Safari 5.1.2, 1920 x 1200, and everything works fine, menus are on top of photo, looks great!

Jim, Did you make a change? The drop down menus are working for me today on Firefox 9.0.1.

Jim,
The black line is no longer there in IE8. On the errors others are getting, I got the same issue for a brief period (the menus hidden behind the images), but have not been able to reproduce the issue since then - maybe that was when you were working on it. Also, for those that are still seeing issues, it's best if they clear their browser cache as those scripting files & pages can be stored in their system for quicker load times. They are maddening when trying to debug a site. Have them try that & then see if they still see the issues.

Thanks Wick! This is a new script that I will probably use for a while, so any de-bugging we can do now is useful.
Thanks again for the feedback!

Looks great, Jim. Works perfectly. Mousing over the image pauses the slideshow and shows the image info, and clicking the images takes me to the EPA page. I'm on a Mac using the latest Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and Firefox 9.0.1.
