Oh....my bad!

All kidding aside, I'm not a huge Clyfford Still fan, but as abstracts go this isn't really that bad if you ask me.
Worth 30 million? Not to me, but I wouldn't pay 1 million for a Peter Lik either, even if it were wall sized like this painting is.
The ironic thing is that by damaging it, the crazy lady may have actually increased its value (especially if they can discover she belongs to a satanic cult or is related to Lady Gaga) because it becomes part of the piece's history.

Thanks, Jack.

We just visited the museum last month. I've never been to a musem that exclusively displayed the work of just one artist !
The museum's collection includes about 2,400 paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures, much of which have never been on public display before. They just had to auction 4 of his paintings to raise $114 million for the musem endowment ! I had never heard of the guy, but somebody obviously likes his work.

Here's some more detail:
"A 36-year-old Denver woman, apparently drunk, leaned against an iconic Clyfford Still painting worth more than $30 million last week, punched it, slid down it and urinated on herself....It doesn't appear she urinated on the painting or that the urine damaged it, so she's not being charged with that....Damage to the painting is estimated at $10,000.....Tisch allegedly committed the offense with her pants pulled down, according to the police report, and struck the painting repeatedly with her fist...."

If you visit the museum, take your camera. The perforated concrete ceiling provides some interesting abstract opportunities.

I'm sure her mother is proud of her...

How can you tell???

I'm with Phillip on this one, but then again, I think it's insanity to pay A-Rod $32 million a year. Not that I'd regulate what anyone makes/buys, as it's a free country, but c'mon, man!

I can't see any damage, but I'm not a fan of the "art" to begin with. Looks like paint peeling off a Midwest barn to me.
