I'm confined to base recovering from having my part of my jaw cut away to remove a wisdom tooth (low male pain threshold = wimp).
So I took this earlier today through my double glazed bedroom "hide".

Hi Rob
May be 'common or garden' but your shot certainly isn't. I like the perch, pose, BG (assume it is OOF brick work) composition and good detail in the black even though it suffers a little from noise. All round a very nice image!
Hope you fell better soon had a similar problem last year!
Hi Rob,
Sounds painful, just the thought of the denist makes me cringe, let alone the actual treatment itself ,anyway swiftly changing the subject.I think you've got a really attractive shot here,I'm a sucker for colourful images so this one appeals a lot.
Good job on keeping the upper tips of the branches in shot and I like the blackbird's pose in this one, with that sideways look.
Quite remarkable quality as well with the stacked convertors, let alone shooting through glass.
PS. Hope you make a speedy recovery.

Nice image Rob! Sorry to hear about your wisdom tooth! Nice background colors and a nice perch....i can also see a bit of noise,

Very pleasant composition, and I quite like the background colour (distant brick wall?). Minor nit is that I`d like to see a bit more room above the topmost branch. Also, I think you may have tried a touch too hard to squeeze out some detail in the Blackbird`s feathers, resulting in them looking a little washed out. Therefore (if it were mine), I would darken the blacks a bit.
Thanks everyone. The bird was around 15m away and the BG is the wall of a house some 40m behind the subject. I have cloned out a mushy window upper right of frame. The blacks are a touch washed out but that is due in part to the ISO setting and noise reduction applied. Could strengthen them a bit in PS.

I find it nice and simple and very effective with that different b/g.
Best wishes
