I was at the Viera Wetlands on Saturday morning and came across this otter with a HUGE fish. The otter ate for a few minutes and then hid the rest of the fish in the reeds. It was so engrossed in the fish that I could move around and try to find a spot to get a decent shot, but this was the best I could find. I was right next to the water's edge so couldn't go further left to try for improvement. But I thought this was pretty cool, especially seeing the teeth, and I wanted to share three images. I'm sharing larger versions so you can see the teeth better!

Edited: Only the first post can have a larger version, and you have to click on the link at the upper right of the post to see the larger version, but this is the best one for the teeth.

Well done, Barbara. I've seen River Otters catch, kill and eat 42 inch long, 25 lb Steelhead Trout. They are amazing hunters.

Thank you for the replies! I think you must be right, Kendall. It does look like an eel.
