Lovely shot, John. I think portrait format may have suited the pose better, but appreciate it is not always possible to turn the camera at the time. Or were you just trying to avoid the reflection?

John this is my favourite image of yours so far. I love wet birds and I love GSW's so a win double for me

Thanks all.
Interesting point on vertical v horizontal. I always have the camera landscape when in pool hides. I usually rack out enought to get a vertical if I really need it off the pano.. Also the slightly smaller image gives me more DOF. The birds are that close that you can't be moving lenses around etc anyway, and if something good turns up well at least you get something. Its also quite hard to get a landscape from vertical !! :toast:

A really nice image of a lovely bird John. The wet plumage seems to enhance their colours, but makes them look oh so scruffy, love it!! :toast:

A real gem! Still haven't had any bathers yet at either pool and the woodland one disappeared under a fallen scots pine in the storm!
