2 young Heron, watched by mum.
Taken yesterday at the same location as my swan portrait. Really want to go back here with some proper reach, this is only about %35 of the original frame! This was the only spot I could get close enough but unfortunately my view was blocked by branches. The nests will be totally hidden soon!

Still, was a fun moment to see the 2 young'uns fighting whilst mum watched on...

Hi Richard
I think i have visited this heronry,My brother goes there alot,Its getting to stage where the folage is getting to big to make a good image,The image shows good interaction between the chicks and the parent bird over looking the situation,I think the folage is just abit too much in this one and an image taken a couple of weeks previous would have been better,What is that above the adult bird-flies or a dirty sensor?

These look very photogenic, remind me of the muppets. Good point about the nests being hidden soon, next fews days we loose all that access. I think some tree climbing skills and brain removal are required to get a more eye level pic.

Dave, this is a local pond in West Drayton, West London. There is too much foliage yep, its a shame but I took the photo anyway as more of an insentive to go back and get a better photo in the future :)
Its flies by the way, there were loads of them! In another shot of another nest there are so many it almost looks like a small cloud, bluuuurgh.

Tim, a ladder and some sheers will soon sort that out lol
